Hi Lake Neighbors!

Here is FINALLY the rough recap from our last meeting...sorry for the unusual delay -- it's been more wildly busy than usual and I sorta hit a wall. Wow.

Okay, first…our next meeting is going to be on Sunday FEBRUARY 7th at 5:30pm at Devin and Skye's place (912 East 18th Street @ 9th Ave. -- their # is 510 928-7818) Potluck as usual. I know that is superbowl day -- but hopefully it is late enough that football people can do both! Otherwise, maybe it can be put on off to the side someplace.

We talked about people taking on roles now – people seem a lot more motivated and have been asking. Please look it over & see if anything calls to you – if you feel busy, you are probably the perfect person for the role – we won’t pressure you – we all do the best we can. Also, partnering up is a great idea for these roles, too. If you notice a role that is missing…suggest it! Some of them got claimed in the meeting, contact that person and add your efforts so that category does even better.

City related improvements (facilitating action/progress around issue ie: street lighting, whatever the group or neighbors deem as necessary in meetings. Follow delegated issues

Some things we have established or want to pursue:

We asked to be made a “project” by patrols so they can work continuously on our & were told yes…what is happening with this now?

WHAT WE WANT FROM THE OPD:

1) Better consistency of fast response for dangerous incidents that are called in

(ie: burglaries in process, suspects in this recent wave seen in action, etc.).

2) Follow up and responsiveness to our burglaries/robberies when we call to find out.

3) OPD increase use of Lucky’s Auxillary office (we can help you have internet to help this)

4) Please ask your officers to meet us. Reach out and make the effort.

5) Please inform us about the latest arrests and changes in our area.

Questions: Is OPD checking ATM camera’s for the stolen ATM cards that are being used after muggings? What do you advise when we see a spread out group of males in black hoodies walking the entire width/span of the street/sidewalk on a street? Can we have the regular beat officers (not just the PSO’s) come out of their cars so we can see them – we see them, but in motion in vehicles.
