Hi LAKE NEIGHBORS!!!

Hey...nice meeting tonite (regardless of the WAY wacked out time issues I created!! Sorry! -- we have a solution now, so that won't happen again). Okay, we have people signed up for most of the roles now. So, now we can all pitch in and there is one person taking the lead on one aspect of all the things we care about.

FIRST our next meeting...we will always meet at 6:30 from now on regardless of whether we are meeting on a Sunday or a Tuesday. Our next meetings are:

MARCH 30th (Tuesday 6:30pm)--Lake Neighbors Mtg @ Regen Church on the corner of 3rd Ave & E. 15th

APRIL 18th (Sunday 6:30pm)- Lake Neighbors Mtg @ Hector & Sasha’s 1704 3rd Ave. at E.17th (right across from Lucky’s).



Okay, so now the recap from the meeting -- we went over many things under each person's category and I'll put all the categories down so we can all see who is doing what -- please jump in and help in any area, more people can get more done. These are all put into the 3 categories that are our strategy to increase greatness and safety here. Please see below...

1) IMMEDIATE SAFETY ISSUE

Emergency prep responsibilities (e-team established and growing)

Police contact/crime activity monitor to build and continue strong positive contact with OPD: RICHARD B

Community Currency Manager: _DEVIN_

Devin will push for this to have a good start & see what it possible right after April 15th (he is a tax


accountant and is obviously WAY overbusy until then!)

Neighborhood Watch Coordinator & neighborhood block captain: JESSICA B



2) STRONG ONGOING POSITIVE EVENTS & OTHER POSITIVE CHANGES IN NEIGHBORHOOD

City related improvements (RICH B, INGRID maybe here, too?)

Neighborhood Improvement ARTS: (DAVE KIM, SEAN ) Matlena would like to join. We are hoping to show up to


work/improve the spot on E.17th on 4/18...we are hoping to ask Dave K & crew to set a creation deadline of 4/15


for some of the plans we have all been talking about in this category. Maybe Dave can talk with Matlena and


Sean and write something down that I can put out to everyone with dates so we can all help out.

FRESH was a great success -- amazing event -- Betsy rocks big time.

Woody’s movies Wed 3/24 7pm Sita Sings the Blues, 8:30 Barbarella!

LAKEPEEPS OUTDOOR MOVIE Sat 4/24, movie TBA (monthly after that weather permitting)

Earthday Clean-up Your Block Day! More info TBA, but will be on our around 4/22

Michael Jackson Block Party in May -- More info TBA


Community gardens: what are the titles for this? (Daphne, Betsy…) Needs?

Hector and Nico started plans to move the antenna for LAKENET from the Berman's roof over to the

Regen tower starting next weekend...keep an eye on your inet menu for the signal soon after to see if you can

pick it up. The password is given at the meetings.

3) HEALING THE CAUSE INSTEAD OF TREATING THE SYMPTOM BY CONNECTING WITH PEOPLE BEING CAUGHT IF POSSIBLE

Looking for a new cuddly addition to your family. A stray momma adopted us and before we knew it, there was a litter in our yard. We scooped them all up and have a warm and safe knook set up for them all. We're helping her raise 4 baby kittens. They are 3 weeks old and will be ready for new homes on a month.
