Continuing our efforts to beautify the neighborhood, to fight blight, crime and promote a better life for us all, Oakland's Brooklyn Neighborhood Beautification Project is having it's second median planting on Saturday, May 25 from 9:30 am- 1 pm.
Help us take over another median and see our neighborhood change. We need your help to prepare the space, dig holes and cover the stretch with decomposed granite as well someone with a pickup truck to help deliver the plants that morning. We will also be planting a few sidewalk landscape strips which will continue the beautification out to our streets. Neighbors are requested to bring a dish to the BBQ/potluck following the planting to be held at the home of this planting's Block Captain, Brittany Ceres. A huge thanks to the Ceres Family for nominating this median and rallying the troops on surrounding blocks, we need more neighbors like you so thank you!!!
We are seeking tax deductible donations, which can be made to "Oakland's Brooklyn Neighborhood Beautification Project" and forwarded to either me at the address below or to Block Captain, Brittany Ceres (bbceres@gmail.com). I am also setting up a Paypal account and donations can also be made by bank transfer if you have a Wells Fargo account- contact me for details. A huge thanks again to the Ceres Family for making a generous donation to help pay for some of the plants.
Upcoming sidewalk plantings are forming on E 21st and 12th Avenue where they intersect- planting dates to be announces later.
Be part of the solution to make this neighborhood a better place to live! Take ownership- your small contribution today combined with everyone else's can really make a difference.
