New Year's Eve Annual progressive dinner invite

YOU'RE INVITED
To a Progressive Dinner through the Lake Neighborhood!

Meet your neighbors, poke around their houses, watch an amazing meal unfold, and bring in the New Year at the Lake Neighbors Progressive Dinner.

Friday, Dec. 31, 2010
Exact time and host-homes to be announced soon. Friends and family from out of the hood are welcome to join and see how cool we are. ;-) Just be sure to RSVP via the upcoming Evite so the hosts will know how many to plan for and who's bringing what.

Can't wait!

Lake Peeps Quarterly Schedule 2011

Hi Lake Neighbors!!!

Well, I got a very strong positive response about changing the format of how we meet and what we do. SO...with the group "okay", here is what it looks like. We need to work on building our calendar for the year, so the calendar is in rough draft -- give your input and ideas.

1) We will officially have 4 quarterly meetings which will be held on the THIRD THURSDAY in January, April, July & October (January 20th, April 21st, July 21st & October 20th) from 6 to 8pm. Please mark those down and do all you can to be there...with fewer meetings it is much easier to make the exceptions in scheduling to make it work. We will try to have dinner donated by a local business on those 4 nights. I will give you an update on that part (the food), the location & reminder for the meeting closer to that date.

I still want to keep encouraging e-participation all the time regardless -- it is a strong part of what we do. If you aren't at meetings, you do still live here and your voice, input and opinion are important.

2) We will continue emailing info as needed of updates & responses/info, but we may use a suggestion given about using a more interactive online format -- possibly tied into our website (http://www.fierceface.com/lakeneighbors/index.html)? This is something that I am not an expert at, if you can help make that happen it would be very appreciated.

3) Events events events... we want to get that going a little more regularly. This means the events crew probably will need more people on board. Currently it is Betsy and Skye, who are amazing, but with events all year long it will be a lot. Are you interested in helping out with them? How it works is normally an event is presented by someone and the crew helps it come into being.

4) DO SOMETHING each month for this neighborhood and let us all know big or small what that is – we have about 240 people now organized (with regular drop off from moving & etc. this has been steadily growing). Think about what that would look like if all of us did something proactive every month at minimum. We live here, it makes no sense not to, right?

SEND YOUR IDEAS AND WHAT YOU DO FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD! We plan to add in some events at the New Parkway a few times thoughout the year, but we don't have those dates yet. There are also some art shows and also some other events from Steve Ma with Woody's and the LMBA that we are waiting for dates/info to add in. PLEASE send your ideas or additions. Also, let us know if you want to get involved with any of the existing events. Here are the ROUGH FIRST DRAFT of what we have sofar for our

2011 Lake Neighbors calendar:
